Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Praful Patel Wednesday asked BHEL to diversify in other areas of infrastructure, apart from power and railways, and expand its footprint overseas as well.
In a review of the company, Praful advised BHEL to explore possibilities of diversification in both related and unrelated areas, including Mass Rapid Transport systems, water treatment, an official statement said.
He also asked BHEL to formulate strategies to increase its presence in the export markets.
