BHEL to set up solar power plant in Yemen

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd. (BHEL) has signed an agreement with Yemen’s Ministry of Electricity and Energy for setting up solar photovoltaic (PV)-based power plants at different locations in the Gulf nation. The agreement was signed by BHEL Chairman and Managing Director B. Prasada Rao and Yemen’s Minister of Electricity and Energy Saleh Hassan Sumie. The move will help India’s flagship power equipment company to further consolidate its position in the overseas market. BHEL is presently executing a 400-MW gas turbine-based power plant, Marib Phase-II, in Yemen. Double whammy for BHEL: Project delays, fall in order inflow a worry !

It is a double whammy for India's largest power equipment manufacturer Bharat HeavyBSE 2.37 % Electrical (BHEL). The company's FY14 revenue growth has dipped after several clients delayed execution. BHEL annual profit slides to Rs 3,228 crore

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd's net profit more than halved to Rs 3,228 crore in the previous financial year on account of low volumes and challenges in the domestic power sector. The power equipment major had posted a net profit of Rs 6,615 crore in 2012-13, BHEL said on Saturday.
