CM Yogi to lay foundation of 660MW plant at Panki

The UP government is planning a powerpacked start to the New Year by deciding to gift a brand new super-critical 660 MW power unit at Panki in Kanpur to citizens of the state. Informed sources in the state energy department said that chief minister Aditya Nath Yogi is likely to lay the foundation stone of the new unit in January. The 660 MW plant would be the first stateowned power unit to be installed by BJP government almost 10 months after it stormed to power in March 2017. UP Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (UPRVUNL) director (technical), BS Tewari confirmed that the board of directors has given its nod to the new unit proposed to be set up at Panki. BHEL bags Rs 672-cr order for 25 kV AC Mainline EMU Trains

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd today said it has secured a contract for 146 sets of IGBT-based 3 phase electrics for 25 KV AC Mainline EMU (MEMU) trains. "Valued at Rs 672 crore, the order has been placed on BHEL by Rail Coach Factory (RCF), Kapurthala. BHEL's scope of the work in the order envisages design, manufacture, supply, installation and commissioning of IGBT-based propulsion system and other equipment for MEMU trains of Indian Railways," BHEL said in a statement today. The system and equipment to be deployed in the project will be developed and produced by BHEL at its various manufacturing plants located at Bengaluru, Bhopal and Jhansi, it said. BHEL has been supplying electric as well as diesel locomotives, EMUs, propulsion system sets and drives to Indian Railways over the years. BHEL bags Rs 7,300 cr order to set up plant in Tamil Nadu

Power equipment maker BhelBSE 0.28 % said today that it has won a Rs 7,300 crore order for setting up a Supercritical Thermal Power Project (TPP) in Tamil Nadu. The order for setting up the 2x660 MW Udangudi TPP has been placed on the state-owned firm by Tamil Nadu Generation and Distribution Corporation Ltd (TANGEDCO), Bhel said in a statement. This is the fourth order for supercritical sets finalised in the last three years by TANGEDCO, and all the four orders have been won by Bhel. The previous three orders viz 2x660 MW Ennore SEZ, 1x800 MW North Chennai Supercritical TPP Stage-III and 2x800 MW Uppur TPP were also secured by Bhel on International Competition Bidding (ICB) basis, the company said. BHEL commissions coal-fired power plant in Indonesia

BHEL today announced commissioning of a 54 MW coal-fired captive power project in Indonesia. The 3x18 MW power project located at Sangatta, East Kalimantan, Indonesia has been set up by BHEL for PT Citra Kusuma Perdana (PT CKP) for their coal-mining operations, BHEL said in a statement. For the project, the company has designed, engineered, manufactured and supplied the boiler, turbine and generator (BTG) island and associated auxiliaries along with supervisory services during erection and commissioning. BHEL has executed several projects in the region including projects in Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand and Vietnam. BHEL wins order from Kahalgaon power plant

Following an international competitive bidding (ICB), Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) has secured an order for the renovation and modernisation (R&M) of Electrostatic Precipitators (ESP) at Kahalgaon super thermal power plant in Bihar, India. Valued at over Rs.215 Crore, the turnkey order envisages carrying out R&M of ESPs at Kahalgaon STPS, Stage-I (4x210 MW) of NTPC Ltd. The ESPs, originally supplied along with the units by BHEL, have been in successful operation for more than 25 years since the commissioning of the units. Renovation of these ESPs will enable these units to meet the new norms for suspended particulate matter (SPM) emission, recently announced by the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEF & CC). Modernisation of the units will facilitate the operation of these units for many more years. BHEL’s scope of work in the contract includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, dismantling, erection, testing and commissioning of the ESPs to bring down the SPM emission to the stipulated level for all the four units of Kahalgaon STPS, Stage-1.
