BHEL commissions two hydel units in Afghanistan

State-run Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today said that it has commissioned two units of 14 MW each at Salma Hydro Electric Project in Afghanistan. BHEL commissions 195 MW unit at Muzaffarpur plant

BHEL has commissioned another 195 MW unit at Muzaffarpur thermal power station in Bihar. This is the second 195 MW unit to be commissioned by BHEL at the 2x195 MW Muzaffarpur Thermal Power Station Stage-II of Kanti Bijlee Utpadan Nigam Limited (KBUNL), a joint venture of NTPC and BSPGCL, the company said in a press release. According to the statement, the first 195 MW unit was commissioned in March, 2015. BHEL is the leading supplier of coal-based main plant equipment to NTPC and its joint ventures, with an over 80% share in their installed capacity. BHEL commissions 3 supercritical thermal units in Uttar Pradesh

BHEL BSE 0.25 % today announced the commissioning of all the 3 supercritical units of the 1980 MW coal-based Lalitpur Super Thermal Power Project in Uttar Pradesh within a span of just 85 days. Located in Lalitpur, Bundelkhand district, the 3x660 MW Lalitpur STPP has been developed by Lalitpur Power Generation Company Ltd , promoted by the Bajaj Hindusthan BSE -0.21 % group. "This has been achieved as a result of enhanced focus on project execution by way of innovative erection techniques and meticulous project management," the company said in statement. BHEL commissions 520 MW thermal power unit in AP

BHEL on Wednesday said it has commissioned another 520 MW coal-based power generating unit in Andhra Pradesh. The unit has been commissioned at the 2x520 MW Vizag thermal power project of Hinduja National Power Co Ltd (HNPCL), Visakhapatnam, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited said in a statement. Significantly, in Visakhapatnam district, four 500 MW thermal sets supplied and executed by BHEL are already in successful operation at Simhadri Super Thermal Power Station of NTPC, it said. The Vizag project has been executed by BHEL on engineering, procurement and construction basis. This project is located on the coast of the Bay of Bengal. Notably, this project uses single flow condenser and sea water as main cooling water, it added. Though the project was severely affected by the Hudhud cyclone in 2014 while it was under construction, all out efforts were made by BHEL and HNPCL resulting in curtailing delays and commissioning both units. BHEL has also recently secured prestigious orders for setting up two supercritical thermal power projects involving one unit each of the country's highest rating 800 MW sets, in Andhra Pradesh.
