Singareni gives 800 MW thermal plant work to BHEL

Super critical thermal power plant being set up in Mancherial district at a cost of ₹ 5,817 crore The management of Singareni Collieries Company Ltd (SCCL) has decided to give the work of setting up its new 800 MW super critical thermal power plant in Mancherial district with ₹ 5,817 crore, as the second phase of its existing 2 x 600 MW project, to Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) on nomination basis. It is BHEL that had executed the existing thermal power project of Singareni with fabrication and installation of boilers, turbines and generators for both the units of 600 MW each. The board of SCCL headed by its Chairman and Managing Director N. Sridhar which met here on Monday decided to give the work on nomination basis to BHEL following the approval of the detail project report submitted by the company recently. The State Government suggested to SCCL to give work to BHEL keeping in mind its reputation in executing such projects in time. It may be recalled that BHEL has also bagged the work of setting up 5 x 800 MW super critical thermal power plant of Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Ltd (TSGenco) at Dameracherla in Nalgonda district. BHEL HRD CENTRE ANNOUNCES BEGINNING OF WEEK LONG 16TH YOUNG MANAGERS PROG— NAVUDAY

BHEL Bhopal’s Human Resource Development Centre the other day announced the beginning of the week long 16th Young Managers Programme– NAV-UDAY at HRD Centre. On this occasion HK Nigam, General Manager (MM, Logistics, EM & EMRP) was present as the Chief Guest. Amitabh Dubey (AGM) HRD Swagata S Saxena, DGM (HRD) were also present on the occasion. A total of 26 participants are attending the programme from various sister Units/ sites of BHEL. Nigam addressing the gathering said that in today’s business environment one should be a keen learner and contribute to the best towards our internal and external customers. He said that we need to provide full support to juniors to make them excel in their area of operation. He also reiterated more focus on management and interpersonal skills and on building effective working relationship with various sister units and sites so that fast track decisions can be made. BHEL has the strength to survive any challenge and the management has a lot of expectations from the young managers. He further urged the participants to gain maximum knowledge from the classroom input. Earlier, Amitabh Dubey, AGM (HRD) welcoming all the guest and the participants said that “YMP provides a platform where young managers get ample opportunities to learn and develop. Bhel starts execution of Rs20,400 crore Yadadri plant in Telangana

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (Bhel) Monday said it has commenced execution of Rs20,400 crore Yadadri supercritical thermal power project ordered by Telangana State Power Generation Corporation. “The execution of the 4,000 MW Yadadri Supercritical Thermal Power Project ordered on Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) by Telangana State Power Generation Corporation Limited (TSGENCO) has commenced with the issuance of revised Letter of Intent by TSGENCO,” Bhel said in a regulatory filing. Bhel said that the project, valued at approximately Rs20,400 crore, is the single largest order for the company so far and is also the highest value order ever placed in the power sector in India. “The project has been accorded environmental clearance” and would be compliant with the revised emission norms,” the PSU said. The project is located at Damaracherla in Nalgonda district of Telangana. Bhel said the Yadadri project will be executed on fast track basis by the company in line with its strategy of focusing on revival of held up projects and their speedy execution. BHEL BHOPAL BAGS BEST PRODUCTIVE UNIT OF THE YEAR AWARD

In a grand programme held at New Delhi, BHEL, Bhopal received the ‘Best Productive Unit of the Year Award’ from Anant Geete Minister of Heavy Industries; Atul Sobti, Chairman and Managing Director, BHEL and Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta, Joint Secretary (Ministry of Heavy Industries). TG Bagchi, General Manager (TCB) received the honour on behalf of Bhopal unit. DK Thakur, Executive Director BHEL, Bhopal congratulated all the employees and Trade union representatives for receiving the honour twice in a row. He said that it is a matter of great pride to be able to retain the top spot but at the same time challenging also. Citing the present economic challenges Thakur said that the corporation expects a lot from Bhopal unit. He further urged the employees to work with full commitment and dedication to let the glory prevail. Similarly, at the Corporate led ‘Utkrishtta Puraskar’ ceremony, Bhopal unit won the ‘Grahak Santushti Puraskar’ for the year 2015-16. BHEL BAGS IT INNOVATION AND EXCELLENCE AWARDS 2017

nformation and Technology Services Department (ITS) of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) Bhopal, has won the prestigious IT Innovation and Excellence Awards 2017 and awarded as the ‘Best Government Organisation Implementing Information Security’, at the CSI-IT2020 Annual Technology Conference, held in Mumbai. On behalf of ITS BHEL Bhopal, the Award was received by NP Sanodia AGM (IT) and Deepa Prabhakar SDGM (IT) from top officials of CSI Mumbai in a glittering function attended by eminent CIOs of various reputed IT organizations and the elite of the Indian IT industry. DK Thakur, Executive Director BHEL, presented the Award to ITS team of BHEL Bhopal in the presence of TK BAGCHI, General Manager (P&D, IT & TCB). Meanwhile, the HRDC, Bhopal has organised a one-day workshop on ‘Testing techniques in Switchgear’. The faculty was Arun Dewangan, DGM (SWE). Brajesh Agrawal. AGM (HRD) and CPIO spoke about the importance of technical workshops and the role of testing techniques in maintaining the quality of products leading to customer satisfaction and customer delight. Vijay Bhalla, Senior Manager coordinated the workshop and proposed the vote of thanks. Suresh Nema and Atique Khan were also present on this occasion. President Of India Presents ‘Vayoshreshtha Samman’ 2017 To BHEL For Promoting Well-Being And Welfare Of Senior Citizens

In recognition of the outstanding service ​of Bhel ​for promoting the well-being and welfare of senior citizens​, President of India, Ram Nath Kovind presented the ‘Vayoshreshtha Samman’ 2017 to Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL)​. The prestigious national award for ‘Best Public Sector Undertaking in Promoting The Well Being And Welfare Of Senior Citizens’, was received by Atul Sobti, CMD, BHEL, along with D. Bandyopadhyay, Director (HR), BHEL. ​​ Lauding BHEL’s initiatives in caring for its employees even after superannuation, the Hon’ble President said that more organisations should take such initiatives on the lines of BHEL, and care for employees who devote their entire working life to the organisation. BHEL pays 79% dividend for 2016-17, highest in 3 years

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd has paid a final equity dividend of 39 per cent for 2016-17. With this, the total dividend paid during the year stands at 79 per cent, including an interim one of 40 per cent paid earlier, BHEL said in a statement today. The figure is four times the dividend paid in the previous year and its highest in the last three years.
