BHEL spends Rs.4.65 lakh for schools

The BHEL, Tiruchi, distributed free school uniforms, furniture, public address system, and sports and games articles, under its corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities. The BHEL has also undertaken repair of building in three different schools in the nearby villages. The value of money spent on these CSR schemes is about Rs.4.65 lakh.

At a function held at panchayat union middle school, Thuvakkudimalai north recently, P. Nainar, general manager, human resources, BHEL, distributed free uniforms to 267 students belonging to below poverty line families.

S. S. Pillai, former general manager, public relations and administration, M. Palanivel, AGM-HR, K. Murali, DGM-PR, and administration, A. Vedan, president, parent teachers association, and E. Kayampoo, chairman, Thuvakudy municipality, offered felicitations. The headmistress of the school, A. Amutha, thanked BHEL for its gesture.

At another function at panchayat union middle school, Navaloor Kuttappattu the same day, Mr. Nainar distributed furniture, sports and games articles, plates, and public address system worth Rs.2 lakh.

S. Juliet Rubella, headmistress, M. Arulanandam, AEEO, and S. Amutha Selvam, president, Navaloor Kuttappattu panchayat, offered felicitations.

At a function held on the premises of RC Aided Primary School, Krishnasamuthiram panchayat recently, Mr. Nainar distributed free uniforms to 43 students. BHEL has completed the renovation work of the school building at a cost of Rs.1 lakh.

Headmistress S. Selvarani welcomed the gathering. Rev. Fr. A. Arokiya Sundarraj, correspondent, and Mr Sivaji, president, Krishnasamuthiram panchayat, offered felicitations.
