BHEL sees robust growth in capital goods sector

India's top power equipment maker Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd on Wednesday said it sees the growth momentum in capital goods sector to continue in the coming months.

The company said it expects higher investments from the private sector in the power space.

During the last financial year, total orderbook of the company stood at Rs 59,031 crore with orders for equipment that can generate 16,489 MW of electricity. Ninety per cent of the orders came from the IPPs.

During the year, BHEL received orders from ACC, Adhunik, Avantha, Hindalco, Indiabulls, Jaypee Group, Jindal Power, Sterlite, Tatas, Videocon among others.

BHEL manufactures equipment that can generate 15,000 MW of power and it plans to ramp up this capacity to 20,000 MW soon.
