BHEL's industry segment registers 40-per cent growth news

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) today said that its industry sector business segment recorded an all-time high growth of 40 per cent over the previous year.

Out of the total order booking of Rs59,031 crore by BHEL in 2009-10, industry business segment contributed Rs.14,366 crore, it said.

BHEL said that during fiscal 2009-10, major successes included the highest value captive power plant order of Rs3,348 crore for oi8l marketing gioant, Indian oil Corporation's cogeneration power plant at Orissa, major repeat orders from Hindalco for 6x150 MW BTG package for its Orissa project and Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL) for a 20 MW cogeneration plant at its Chennai Refinery.

BHEL's transportation segment is executing its single largest order of Rs990 crore for 150 5000 HP 25 kV AC mainline electric locomotives (type WAG -7) from Indian Railways.
