BHEL today said it signed a technology transfer agreement with UK-based Sheffield Forgemasters International to produce forgings for turbines and generators up to 1,000 MW rating.
The knowledge transfer package was signed here by BHEL Chairman and Managing Director B P Rao and Chief Executive of Sheffield Forgemasters Graham Honeyman in the presence of Minister of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Vilasrao Deshmukh, an official statement said.
The 10-year partnership to develop power generation forgings in the sub-continent will see transfer of specialist technology and engineering knowledge from the Sheffield-based manufacturer to BHEL, the statement said.
