BHEL sets up new unit at Jhansi facility

BHEL on Wednesday said it has increased its transformer building capacity to 15,000 megavolt ampere (MVA) per annum by setting up a new unit at its facility at Jhansi in Uttar Pradesh.

BHEL has set up a new Core and Tank Shop at its transformer manufacturing facility at Jhansi, thereby enhancing the manufacturing capacity from 8,500 MVA to 15,000 MVA per annum, a company statement said.

“These steps would enable BHEL to cater to the requirements of power stations with advanced technology that are expected to come up,” Vilasrao Deshmukh, the Minister for Heavy Industries & Public Enterprises, said after dedicating the unit to the nation on Wednesday.
