New Dadri plant unit uses less coal, protects environment: BHEL

BHEL has successfully synchronised the second 490-MW unit at NTPC's Dadri plant with new technology that will address the problem of coal shortage significantly and also protect the environment. "These new state-of-the-art machines have a better heat rate, leading to a direct reduction of coal consumption to the tune of 12,000 tonnes per annum per unit. The units also comprise advanced control, instrumentation and monitoring system," BHEL officials said here.
