Gasping BHEL loses Rs 150cr tender to competitor, sabotage suspected

In a major setback to crisis-ridden Bhopal unit of state-owned Bharat Heavy Electrical Ltd (BHEL), it lost Rs 154-cr tender to a private Indian company following an apparent sabotage. While sources allege BHEL's rate was leaked to its competitor, top officials of the company feigned ignorance. "The tender was floated by diesel locomotive works tenders (DLW) Varanasi a month ago for manufacturing 700 motors (TM4907) of Rs 20 lakh each. BHEL lost thebusiness to a private company as rates were leaked and the competitor filed a lower rate," said an officer wishing anonymity. ref: http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/city/bhopal/Gasping-BHEL-loses-Rs-150cr-tender-to-competitor-sabotage-suspected/articleshow/52394711.cms
