BHEL distributes free kits for haemophiliac children

The industry sector of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, New Delhi, in association with The Haemophilia Federation (India), Tiruchi chapter, distributed free medical kits containing anti-haemophilic factors (AHFs) to seven haemophiliac children hailing from poor families here recently. Haemophilia, a genetic bleeding disorder because of lack or deficiency of essential blood clotting factors, results in severe bleeding even for minor wounds. The standard method of treatment was through injection of factors that arrest bleeding. M. Palanivel, general manager, Human Resource, BHEL Tiruchi, distributed the medical kits to the beneficiaries. Tara Sundararajan, president, Haemophilia Society, Tiruchi Chapter, and other office-bearers of the society were present. K.
