Hindustan Salts Said To Partner BHEL For Mega Solar Project

PSU firm manufacturing common salt, Hindustan Salts is in talks to partner another state-owned firm, BHEL to come up with a mega solar power plant, according to Indian Express. The planned unit is learnt to be Asia’s largest solar power generation facility on about 15,000 acres of unutilized salt pan land in Rajasthan. Also both the companies are under the planning stage of developing another 23,000 acres of land in Gujarat for setting up a combined solar and wind power capacity adding up to 4,000 MW. IL&FS and BHEL are doing a feasibility study to install the solar power plant on its land.
