BHEL Signs MoU with Tajikistan for setting up a 100 MW Hydro-Electric Power Project

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has signed an agreement with the Ministry of Energy and Industry, Republic of Tajikistan to set up a 100 MW Hydro Electric Power Plant in Tajikistan. In the presence of H.E. Mr. Emomali Rahmon, President of Tajikistan and Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Hon’ble Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy, Govt. of India, the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by H.E. Mr. Gul Sherali, the Minister of Energy and Industry, Republic of Tajikistan and BHEL. The 100 MW Hydro Electric Power Plant will be set up by BHEL on Zeravshan river in Tajikistan, and will help in harnessing Tajikistan’s hydro potential.
