BHEL, Titan Energy among 17 to put 20 MW solar PV units

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE), through the Non-Conventional Energy Development Corporation (NEDCAP) of Andhra Pradesh has selected the developers to execute 20 MW of solar photo-voltaic units under the phase one of the National Solar Mission, wherein it was decided to award about 100 MW of capacity to the government and private entities.

Of the 345 applicants from the State, 17 developers, including solar panel makers, solar photovoltaic power generation companies, and Government and public establishments and undertakings, were shortlisted by NEDCAP.

About 4.25 MW of generation capacity has been allocated for solar panel manufacturers and another 4.2 MW to BHEL (1 MW), Hyderabad Metro Water Works (1MW), AP Genco (1MW), APIIC (1 MW) and Dr. MCR HRD Institute (200 kW).

Under the private sector, Titan Energy Systems (1MW), Photon Energy (1MW), Premier Solar, Solar Semiconductor and Andromeda were allotted about 750 kW each for execution.
