BHEL employees contribute Rs. 45.17 lakh for flood relief

Employees of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Ranipet, voluntarily donated a day’s salary to help in the rehabilitation of people affected in the floods in the State. A total of Rs. 45.17 lakh was collected and donated to the Chief Minister’s Public Relief Fund. K. Mysaiah, executive director of BHEL Ranipet, handed over the cheque to R.S. Manokaran, joint secretary to Government of Tamil Nadu and treasurer of the CM’s Public Relief Fund on March 11. In fact, BHEL, Ranipet, had extended a helping hand when the floods had hit Chennai, Tiruvallur and Cuddalore in December last year.
