BHEL to cut power equipment prices

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) is relooking at its pricing strategy. Considering the competition from multinational companies, it is being felt that the base price of the power sector equipment and services should be lowered by 10 per cent to 15 per cent if BHEL was to keep its order book moving, according to sources. BHEL, ranked among the international top 12 in the power sector, has also taken up a review of the erection time for equipment, especially those used for setting up 250 MW thermal power units.
