Bharat Heavy Electricals commissions 93 Megawatt steam turbine at Hazira

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), India's largest power plant equipment manufacturer, today announced it has commissioned a 93 megawatt steam turbine at the Reliance run Hazira plant in Gujarat. The 93 MW unit is the second unit in the 4 X 93 MW steam turbine based captive power project (CPP) being set at Hazira by Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), according to a BHEL media release. RIL is also setting up a 3X93 MW steam based CPP at Dahej in Gujarat, the statement added. BHEL has so far supplied a total of four steam turbine for both the project and the remaining three turbines are planned to be commissioned during the current financial year. In the current fiscal year BHEL has so far added 600 MW capacity in its captive power plant segment, the government owned company has also added 2,180 MW capacity to the power utility segment capacity, the release added.
