BHEL's new CSR initiative
Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL), a Maharatna company, has distributed anti-hemophillic factors (AHFs) kits worth Rs. 11 lakh to children suffering from hemophilia.
The kits were distributed to children from poor families at an event organised on March 18, a release issued by the BHEL said.
Hemophilia is a genetically transmitted, life-long bleeding disorder which can lead to disability and even death if left untreated.
BHEL, along with Hemophilia Federation (India), is undertaking a Pan-India CSR activity – Heal a Soul, where it will provide free-of-cost AHFs, provide support for carrier detection and pre-natal diagnosis of women for prevention of hemophilia, it said in the release.
