Telangana pays Rs. 350 cr to BHEL for power stations

Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Wednesday handed over a cheque for Rs. 350 crore to Chairman and Managing director of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) B. Prasada Rao for construction of super critical power stations at Kothagudem and Manuguru in Khammam district. This was the first instalment of funds released to the State-owned BHEL, a major in the field of power plant equipment, after it signed a memorandum of understanding with the State Government for commissioning the plants. Sources said Mr. Rao asked the BHEL top executive to complete the works at Kothagudem in two years and a year later at Manuguru. Bhel gains on forming a consortium for building submarines

BHEL rose 0.98% to Rs 257 at 12:25 IST on BSE after the company, Mishra Dhatu Nigam and Hindustan Shipyards have come together to form a consortium for building submarines indigenously. The company made announcement during market hours today, 30 December 2014. Meanwhile, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 26.82 points or -0.12% at 27,362.99. On BSE, so far 1.17 lakh shares were traded in the counter as against average daily volume of 5.91 lakh shares in the past one quarter. The stock hit a high of Rs 258.90 and a low of Rs 254 so far during the day. The stock hit a 52-week high of Rs 291.50 on 26 May 2014. Traffic safety coordinators installed at BHEL

The 16th batch of traffic safety coordinators was installed at the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchi, on Monday. Twenty employee volunteers were inducted as safety coordinators at a function held at the Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC) of BHEL. The safety coordinators will assist BHEL security personnel in regulating the traffic and ensuring safety throughout the factory and its township during peak hours and during their off duty hours. G. Ramasamy, Regional Transport Officer, Tiruchi (East), explained various steps to be taken to prevent accidents. He briefed the participants about the rules and regulations with respect to road safety. T. Baskaran, Additional General Manager, Health Safety Environment, BHEL, briefed about the Safety Co-ordinators Scheme. S. BHEL wins Rs 131 cr thermal power project order in Turkey

BHEL has bagged a €16.96 million contract for a thermal power project in Turkey, the company said. "The company has bagged a contract for rehabilitation of 3 units of Electrostatic Precipitators for the 430 MW Tuncbilek Thermal Power Project in Turkey on EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) basis," BHEL said in a statement. The order has been placed on BHEL by Electricity Generation Company which is the largest electric power company in Turkey. It is owned by the Turkish government and it generates and supplies electricity throughout the country. BHEL to set up solar photo-voltaic unit in Maharashtra

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) would set up an integrated solar photo-voltaic manufacturing facility of around 500 MW per annum in Maharashtra, Parliament was informed today.
