BHEL DEVELOPS GAS INSULATED SWITCHGEAR

BHEL has developed Gas Insulated Switchgear for 33kV 31.5kA and 40kA Basic Short Circuit duties. Tests were conducted at KEMA, Netherlands. These duties tests are conducted to verify capabilities of Switchgear comprising of key elements such as mechanism, Vacuum Interrupter with suitable linkages. This is a new range of product added into BHELs product range. Requirement of GIS is growing fast in India due to its inherent advantage of low space requirement, higher safety and lower outages due to Switchgear failure, compared to AIS. Panel Calls For Forensic Audit Of BHEL

A Parliamentary panel on Tuesday called for a forensic audit of state-run BHEL to identify instances of deficiencies, saying that performance of the Maharatna PSE slackened in the last two to three years due to "poor risk analysis and business foresight". The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Industry in its report on Department of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises noted that BHEL has been classified as 'weak' under the department's classification of CPSEs based on new guidelines despite being a Maharatna. BHEL's performance has slackened over the past two to three years owing to a slew of reasons by the company such as retarded demand, delayed environmental clearances and stranded orders, the report said. "The reasons put forward by BHEL portrays an impression that these are 'beyond the control of the company'. BHEL commissions 600 MW thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh

Bharat Heavy Electricals Ltd (BHEL) today announced the commissioning of a 600 MW coal-based thermal power plant in Madhya Pradesh. "The unit has been commissioned at the 1x600 MW Jhabua Thermal Power Project (TPP) located in Seoni district in Madhya Pradesh," BHELBSE -1.41 % said in a release. The project has been developed by Jhabua Power Ltd (JPL), a subsidiary of Avantha Power & Infrastructure Limited (APIL). This is the second project of APIL commissioned by BHEL after the 1x600 MW Avantha Bhandar TPP at Raigarh in Chhattisgarh, it said. BHEL's scope of work in the contract envisaged design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam turbine, generator and boiler, along with associated auxiliaries and electricals, besides controls and Instrumentation and electrostatic precipitators, it added. National Fire Service Day observed at BHEL, Trichi

The National Fire Service Day was observed at BHEL, Tiruchirappalli On Sunday. Speaking on the occasion, S Gopinath, executive director, BHEL, Tiruchirappalli said that the fire service personnel have contributed immensely to the development of the nation by saving human lives and properties. Gopinath also presented medals to the Security and Fire Service staff who had put in over 30 years of service. Prizes were also distributed to the winners of competitions held in connection with the National Fire Service Day. BHEL staff fume over move to sell excess land to govt

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited's proposal to hand over its acres of extra land in the city to the state government, has not gone down well with the employees of the industrial area.
