BHEL gets ISO 50001

Unit II of High Pressure Boiler Plant of Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchi, has been awarded with the ISO 50001 certification for its energy management system. The certificate was presented to S. Gopinath, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi by Ramesh Venkatesan representing the British Standard Institution (BSI) at a function held on the BHEL premises on Friday. Unit II qualified for ISO 50001 certification for efficient usage of energy, documentation and reporting, design and procurement practices of equipment, systems, processes, and personnel that contribute to energy performance,. Mr. Gopinath said it was the second BHEL unit to get ISO 50001 certification for its energy management system, after the one in Haridwar. C. BHEL shares gain 2% on no divestment plan of govt

Shares of BHEL gained more than 2 percent intraday Wednesday after heavy industry minister Anant Geete on Tuesday says there are no plans for divestment in the company. He further says performance of the power equipment maker has been improving and so far it has received orders worth Rs 22,000 crore in FY16. The government has 63.06 percent shareholding in the company as of September 2015. About five percent stake sale in BHEL could fetch the government around Rs 2,000 crore. In March 2014, it had sold 4.66 percent stake in the company for around Rs 1,890 crore. BHEL to set up 5 MW solar power plant

The Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, Tiruchi, is setting up a grid connected 5 MW solar power plant on its campus and hopes to achieve considerable savings on its power bill. S.Gopinath, Executive Director, BHEL, Tiruchi, inaugurated the construction activities after a bhoomi pooja was performed at a function held at the site near the High Pressure Boiler Plant (Unit II). The solar panels will be spread over an area of 25 acres. The Rs. 30.76 crore project is to be completed within six months and is expected to save BHEL about Rs 5.15 crores every year in energy bills by generating approximately 7.5 million units of electricity per annum, a BHEL press release said. While BHEL’s Electronic Division at Bengaluru will manufacture, supply, erect and commission the 20,016 solar photo voltaic panels and allied electrical equipment for the plant, the associated civil works will be done by BHEL, Tiruchi. A similar plant has been commissioned at BHEL’s Boiler Auxilliaries Plant at Ranipet. BHEL Transformer Division has recently successfully designed, manufactured, type tested and supplied 6 nos 285 MVA, 400 kV, 1- Phase Generator Transformer highest rating 2×700 MW Kakrapara Atomic Power Plant of Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited (NPCIL) meeting stringent Technical specification and Quality inspection norms of NPCIL. BHEL is supplying such 14 Nos. of above rating Generator Transformers for 2×700 MW Kakrapar Atomic Power Project (KAPP) and 2×700 MW Rawatbhata Atomic Power Plant (RAPP). BHEL bags two thermal power projects worth Rs 4,600 crore

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited ( BHELBSE -1.24 %) today said it has bagged orders worth Rs 4,614 crore for setting up two supercritical thermal power projects. "BHEL has secured prestigious orders, cumulatively valued at at Rs 4,614 crore, for setting up two supercritical thermal power projects involving one unit each of the country's highest rating 800 MW sets in Andhra Pradesh," it said in a statement. Both the projects are valued Rs 2,307 crore each. "The projects are 1x800 mw Dr Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station (Dr NTTPS) stage-V of Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation Ltd (APGENCO) and 1x800 MW Sri Damodaram Sanjeevaiah Thermal Power Station ( SDSTPS) Stage-II, popularly known as Krishnapatnam Supercritical Thermal Power Project, of Andhra Pradesh Power Development Company Ltd ( APPDCL)," it added. BHEL Q2 net seen up 22%, weaker execution may drag revenue

Bharat Heavy Electricals ' (BHEL) reported performance is likely to remain constrained, impacted by muted execution in July-September quarter. Profit is seen rising 22.2 percent year-on-year to Rs 152 crore on higher other income but revenue may fall 8 percent to Rs 5,650 crore during the quarter, according to analysts polled by CNBC-TV18. Earnings will be announced on November 6.
