BHEL achieves one more milestone

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has successfully commenced another 250 MW coal-based thermal unit at the upcoming Bongaigaon Thermal Power Station (TPS) in Assam. They have executed three coal fired units of 250 MW each at Bongaigaon TPS of NTPC Limited, and it’s the highest rated coal based power plant in the North East Region. For commencing this project, BHEL has demolished an old 4x60 MW power station of Assam State Electricity Board. BHEL is one of the market leaders in the Indian power sector with a installation base of over 170,000 MW of power plant, equipped globally. As per the recent CEA(Central Electricity Authority) study on the performance of sub-critical sets in the country, those which are supplied by BHEL have shown less coal consumption per unit of power consumed. BHEL commissions 660 MW supercritical thermal unit in Maharashtra

Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has commissioned a 660 Megawatt (MW) super critical thermal unit for Mouda power station at Nagpur in Maharashtra. BHEL said the order for setting up two coal-based thermal units of 660 MW was placed on BHEL by NTPC Ltd. “Notably, this is the fourth unit to be commissioned by BHEL at Mouda, where one unit of 660 MW and two units of 500 MW supplied and executed by BHEL, are already in operation,” the company said. The power equipment company further said the key equipment for the project has been manufactured by BHEL at its Haridwar, Trichy, Hyderabad, Ranipet and Bengaluru works, while the construction of the plant was undertaken by the company's power sector - western region. BHEL stock up 3% as 800 MW thermal plant goes operational

Shares of BHEL settled with gains of over 3 per cent today following the launch of commercial operations of the power equipment maker’s first 800 MW unit of a supercritical thermal plant. The BHEL scrip settled at Rs. 166.45, up 3.13 per cent, on BSE. It opened at Rs. 162.70 and touched intra-day high of Rs. 167.50. The stock ended the day on NSE at Rs. 166.70, up 3.32 per cent. After opening at Rs. 162, it touched a high of Rs. 167.85 during the intra-day trade. The market capitalisation of the company increased by 3.13 per cent to Rs. 40,740.30 crore on BSE. “The milestone was achieved for the first unit of the 2x800 MW Yeramarus thermal power station of Raichur Power Corporation Limited (RPCL), in Raichur district of Karnataka,” BHEL said in a statement. BHEL said it completed this state-of-the-art supercritical project on turnkey basis. BHEL pays 40% interim dividend for 2016-17

BHEL has paid an interim dividend of 40 per cent for 2016-17, which in terms of amounts to Rs. 194.8 crore. With this, it has maintained its impeccable track record of earning profits and rewarding investors by paying dividends uninterruptedly for four decades without a break, the company said in a statement. According to the statement, a cheque of Rs. 123.47 crore towards interim dividend for 2016-17 on the equity (63.06 per cent) held by the Central Government was presented to the Heavy Industries Minister, Anant Geete, by BHEL CMD Atul Sobti here, in the presence of Heavy Industries Secretary, Girish Shankar, yesterday.
